In connection with Valentine’s Day, there are different ways to show love. It doesn’t have to mean surprising your wife or partner with hundreds of roses or a dinner at the hottest restaurant in town.

When it comes to social media, there are a lot of options on how to market something or highlight someone you love. It’s probably something no one has missed.

In this case, there is a lovely story that we want to highlight when it comes to love.

Lloyd Devereux Richards, a full time attorney and father of three, spent 14 years pursuing his dream of writing a book, and the next 11 years hoping for the thriller to take off.

It did not, until last week when his daughter posted a 16-second TikTok video with a simple message: “I’d love for him to get some sales.”

The book jumped to №1 on Amazon’s Serial Killer Thrillers list and №7 of all genres on Amazon.

The viral video, which details Mr Richards’ long journey to finishing the novel, Stone Maidens, has garnered more than 40 million views.

TikTok helped fuel sales of hundreds of books in recent years, including through the hashtag #BookTok, which readers use to discuss their favorite authors and book picks.

The news of his overnight fame has overwhelmed Mr Richards, who cried while reading the comments section of the TikTok post after his daughter told him it went viral.

His daughter cried, too, thanking fans for the purchases.

“Because of them, you’re number one,” she told her dad.

This example showcases how viral a video can be and how big the effect is when you hit the right spot. Whether it’s a hashtag or great content.

Everybody loves a good story, right?
